Whether you are a man, woman, young or old, you can’t go wrong with a good pair of premium denim jeans. This classic garment has been around for over a century,. and even today it remains one of the world’s most popular types of pants. Denim jeans have achieved this unmatched level of popularity due to its unique combination of durability, strength, comfort and style. While there are dozens of other types of pants on the market, none of them offer the same versatility as jeans. Unfortunately, though, most men and women stick with just a few basic styles of jeans, such as the traditional indigo color in a classic cut. Granted, there’s nothing necessarily wrong with this style, but you should still consider venturing into other styles. Denim jeans are available in a near-limitless variety of styles, offering something for just about everyone. Regardless of your personal taste and preferences towards fashion, chances are there’s a style of jeans with your name on it. Boyfriend Jeans One alternative style of denim that’s become increasingly popular in recent years is boyfriend jeans. This style of women’s jeans receives its namesake for its relaxed fit, which is similar to that of men’s jeans. In the past, women would often borrow their boyfriend or spouse’s jeans, simply because they preferred the relaxed fit over the traditional fit of women’s jeans. This prompted some genius fashion designers to create a special type of women’s jeans that mimic the look and feel of men’s jeans; thus, creating the modern-day boyfriend jeans. If you are a woman who prefers the relaxed fit of men’s...

The Term ‘Jeans’ Dates Back to the 18th Century You might be surprised to learn that the term “jeans” has origins dating back to the late 1700s. According to Wikipedia, brothers Jean-Gabriel and Genoa Eynard had started a clothing company during this era. Not long after, the Swiss military had entered the brothers’ town of residence, requesting new uniforms to be cut for the troops. The brothers created these uniforms used scraps of blue cloth, which spawned the term “blue jeans.” I think it’s safe to say that the term has stuck, because several hundred years later people throughout the world continue to refer to this garment as either “jeans” or “blue jeans,” paying homage to the Eynard brothers. Some Jeans are Pre-Shrunk Ever notice how some jeans are smaller and tighter around the waist after being washed just once in the washing machine? This isn’t a phenomenon that’s restricted solely to jeans, as many garments suffer from this problem. Being saturated in water and then dried at high temperatures stresses the fabric, causing it to shrink. The good news, however, is that many companies now pre-shrink their jeans beforehand to protect against this phenomenon. By shrinking their jeans before they go on sale, it prevents the headache of having your jeans change size after being washed. Levi Strauss was reportedly the first company to use this manufacturing practice, doing so in 1962. North America Leads the World for Jeans Jeans are the single most popular and commonly worn style of pants in the world. But did you know that North America leads the market as being the largest...

What style of pants do you wear most frequently? If you answered “jeans,” you aren’t alone. For decades now, jeans have been the world’s most popular style of pants. Jacob W. Davis and Levi Strauss & Co. were responsible for pioneering the modern-day blue jeans back in the late 1800s, a time during which gold miners and prospectors were in need of durable, comfortable clothes. This spawned a new era of pants, with jeans slowing but surely becoming the #1 style of pants in the world. Since then, no other trousers have dethroned jeans. So, why are jeans such a popular style of pants among both men and women alike? That’s a question that we’re going to try and answer in today’s blog post. Durability Let’s first go ahead and get the most obvious benefit of jeans out of the way: durability. A good pair of denim jeans can literally last for jeans without ever suffering from any real damage. When compared to other styles of pants, jeans are significantly longer lasting. This is due to their composition of denim material, which offers a strong, rugged feel that’s able to withstand countless days of use. Jeans have become particularly popular among motorcycle riders, cattle ranchers, and outdoorsmen for this very reason. Of course, this is just one of the many reasons why jeans are the world’s most popular style of pants. Versatility Another reason so many men and women wear jeans on a regular basis is because of their versatility. Jeans can be dressed up, or they can be dressed, depending on the way in which they are worn....

Few garments offer the same level of versatility as denim jeans. Ever since they were first invented, men and women of all ages have chosen jeans as their preferred style of pants. They can be worn for a variety of occasions, ranging from everyday casual wear to a slightly more business-casual attire. #1) Wash in Vinegar The thought of washing your favorite pair of jeans in vinegar may sound unappealing (to say the least). After all, wouldn’t it make your jeans smell funny? While it’s true that vinegar possesses a pungent odor, it can still be used to preserve the color of denim — and don’t worry about the odor, as it goes away once the jeans have been washed. Simply fill your washing machine with one cup distilled, filtered white vinegar, place your jeans inside, and turn it on. The vinegar “sets” the color dye into the jeans, preventing fading and discoloration from occurring. #2) Wash Your Jeans Less Frequently Most people are stuck in the mindset of washing their jeans each time after wearing them. But jeans really don’t need to be washed this frequently. On the contrary, you can often wear them for a dozen or more times before doing so. Levi CEO Chip Burgh even revealed that he “rarely” washes his jeans. World-renowned fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger also shared this sentiment, confirming that he too wears the same jeans without washing them. Unless there’s a visible stain on them, you can usually wear your jeans again without having to wash them. #3) Watch the Bottom! One of the most common areas where jeans sustain damage...

The next time you grab a pair of jeans from your wardrobe, look at the front and you’ll probably notice a small pocket found within the actual pocket. Granted, not every brand or style of jeans features this extra-small pocket, but many do. If you inspect this pocket, you’ll notice that it’s too small to fit your wallet or other everyday items in. This begs the question, then: what is the purpose of these extra-small pockets on jeans? On the community Q&A website Quora, a user recently sought an answer to this question. Another user responded by revealing the true nature of this these extra-tiny pockets: Levi Strauss came up with the idea of including small pockets in jeans for the purpose of holding a watch. According to the user, cowboys and miners would carry watches attached to chains on their waistcoats. Levi Strauss wanted to prevent people from losing their pocket watches, so he added two small pockets to his jeans. The trend has since stuck, with many other denim makers and companies following in his footsteps. “It’s a watch pocket. Back in the 1800s, cowboys used to wear their watches on chains and kept them in their waistcosts. To keep them from getting broken, Levi’s introduced this small pocket where they could keep their watch,” explained the user. Of course, there are other things for which the small pockets can be used. For instance, you can store your car key or house key inside the pocket, assuming it’s not connected to a large key ring. The pockets can also be used to store coins. Other things that...
